Giving Back to Our Allied Compatriots in the Philippine Military
The completed refurbishment of the Recovery Room at the Philippine Air Force (PAF) Hospital, Clark Air Base
A Legacy of Service
The Philippine Air Force (PAF) Hospital was originally the Clark Hotel that was built in 1967 to house families arriving from the US to identify the remains of their loves ones killed in Vietnam. It was converted into a medical facility after the base closed in 1991.

A Collaborative Effort
The officers asked Bob Wagner, a member of VFW Post 2485 and Director of the Robert T. Wagner Foundation to refurbish the Recovery Room used by injured and wounded military personnel treated there. Work began on Jan. 22nd, 2026

The Project – Recovery Room Refurbishment
The rooms at the hospital haven’t been upgraded since the US Air Force days. Everything needed to be redone – the air condition, window, doors, cieling and bathroom.
Completed in just under 20 days, our Filipino brother and sisters – at – arms now have a modern, clean, secure and healthy space in which they can heal. We do this in the spirit of comaraderie that has existed between the US and the Philippines for 127 years. Mga Tagapagbantay ng Ating Mahalagang Himpapawid, Tagapagdala ng Pag-asa!
Formal Turnover Ceremony at Clark Air Base
In a simple but meaningful ceremony held at Philippine Air Force (PAF) Hospital inside Clark Air Base, the refurbished recovery room was formally turned over to PAF representatives. The event was attended by hospital leadership, medical personnel, and members of the PAF command, who expressed their gratitude for the support extended to the men and women in uniform. The ceremony underscored the shared commitment between civilians and service members to strengthen the welfare and readiness of our armed forces.
